This 36 year old female underwent a bilateral nipple – areolar sparring mastectomy to prevent breast cancer after genetic studies indicated she was at an extremely high risk for future cancer development. The photo on the right shows the patient’s appearance 7 months after a one stage bilateral immediate breast reconstruction using submuscularly placed silicone gel implants.
